| It was still a little bit shiny when I took the picture because the mod podge was drying. |
Materials: cork board (framed or unframed), month divider pages from a Lilly Pulitzer planner (with the month showing), mod podge, ribbon, scissors and/or a paper cutter.
Step 1: tear out the pages from your planner, selecting your favorite pages for the months. My calendar is only 10 months because I am not in school for June or July. Once you have the pages torn out, cut them down to the size you want so that they fit along the side of your cork board. They can vary in size however you want. In order to eliminate space between pieces, you can use ribbon as a divider cut in half.
Step 2: carefully mod podge each piece of the calendar onto the cork board after laying them out to determine space. I did one side at a time. Then take a piece of thick ribbon to line the side, mod podging it down and then wrapping it around the back to ensure it stays in place. Do this for either side.
Step 3: in order to look shiny and clean, mod podge over the month pieces as a finisher being careful to avoid gluing the ribbon. If the mod podge touches the cork board, it is no big deal-you can wipe it off or let it dry (it dries clear).
The goal of the cork board calendar is that you can pushpin important sticky notes or pieces of paper next to each month. It reduces clutter and keeps everything organized. My cork board came with mounting tape strips so that I can easily hang it by my bed or desk without any hassle (you can't nail anything to the walls where I live). And it is something that you can use for years at a time instead of one calendar each year. It also makes for a great sorority big-little week gift. The possibilities are endless!
