Got Dough?

After many summers as a camper and counselor at Seafarer, I have come to appreciate many things.  Sunsets on the Neuse during cabin meetings.  Watching the girl who was afraid of the zipline go down for the first time.  And knowing the right time to pull pranks on OD, which by the way, is in the middle of the night (shout out to C-46 '09).  But my most favorite lesson which I have come to appreciate is that anytime is the right time to eat cookie dough.  Usually we would appreciate this delectable treat during a midnight party or the occasional rainy day, but over time I learned that it is the ultimate comfort food.  So how does this relate to college might you ask?  Well, I bought a roll of it at the grocery store because when you are locked in captivity for a tropical storm and are looking for some comfort food, all you have to do is think YOLO, pull out the spoons, and share the dough.  So good.  Toll House, of course.

Okay, so this is a blog post completely dedicated to what you need to have in your dorm fridge or pantry or shelves at all times in case of an emergency snack attack, quick breakfast on the run, or energy to keep you going to write that due-tomorrow research paper.  Here's what we've got:

  • Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  • Wheat Thin or Triscuit Crackers
  • Healthy Cereal
  • Granola Bars
  • Protein Bars
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Pretzels
  • Potato Chips
  • Bread
  • Deli Meat
  • Caffeine (in the form of coffee, drinks, or chocolate)
  • Fresh Fruit (apples, peaches, any kind of berry really)
  • Water (keep a good variety so you're never bored-VitaminWaterZero, regular water, Smart Water)
  • Powder Drink Packets (Propel Zero is my personal favorite)
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Healthy Cookies
  • Microwave Dinners (not necessarily from a freezer but Mac-n-Cheese, Ramen, etc.)
Any suggestions?  Keep 'em coming, because when the meal plan isn't enough, you've got to have some food on hand!
