This week, I have shared my story for Hope of the Week. Hope of the Week spotlights Relay for Life committee members who share their stories about battling cancer or knowing someone who has/had cancer. In honor of this, I am sharing my story with everybody in the University of Miami community and those of you who read this blog:
"I relay for my great-grandmother Mildred Gordon, who lost her life to cancer after living as a 25-year survivor. For years she would walk the survivor lap of her local Relay event, never giving up until she finished the first lap, sometimes as the last to do so. This year I am honoring her memory by participating in Relay as she has been a major influence in my life."
