But what I have come to appreciate is the beauty of the Jewish new year. We eat apples and honey as we celebrate the year that passed and the one that we are now living in. The moment is beautiful. Priceless. Nothing beats that sweet, crisp taste. We reflect on the past year and come to appreciate once again those little moments that enhance our lives for the better. For the past twelve months I have shared so many amazing memories with family and friends, and it seems fitting to share my favorite twelve, or one from each month. Listen to this selection as you read the following:
September: My first cross-country race as a senior, breaking my best time by a minute and a half.
October: Going to my first college football game with my family and Emily, best friend from camp.
November: The Taylor Swift concert with my best friend when we sat on the floor and stood in the front row for her tree set.
December: Spending time with my family in Colorado going skiing, skating, and just being together.
January: Winter Formal with my friends in our beautiful dresses, the pink Bentley limo, and roasting s'mores during the after party.
February: The moment when I found out that I was accepted to University of Miami.
March: Blogging my experiences from Spain.
April: Senior Skip Day at the spa!
May: Graduating from high school with my family to celebrate.
June: Throwing the most awesome midnight party for my campers with my co-counselors and snacking on the leftovers.
July: Going to Beaufort with my parents during session break.
August: College orientation and realizing that it would be the best four years of my life.
Happy New Year, everybody! Make it the best year yet.
